The organisers of Tenby Summer Spectacular have been on weather watch ahead of the event today, Sunday August 25.

The town's first Spectacular of the season, on Sunday August 11, took place in ideal conditions, but the forecast has not been looking so positive for today's event.

Tenby Round Table posted on Facebook on the morning of Friday August 23: "We are keeping an eye on a very changeable weather forecast for this Sunday's Summer Spectacular - but based on the current forecast, we hope to go ahead with the event!"

And this morning came the good news that the 'Spec' is going ahead at Tenby Harbour between 3pm and 10pm, with a full line-up of music and entertainment, together with stalls, food and a bar.

However, the 10pm fireworks display is still subject to a risk assessment from its operators.

Tenby Round Table posted on Facebook this morning:

"We are going to GO AHEAD with today’s Summer Spectacular!

"A bit grim for us to set up the event, but forecasts show rain clearing in the afternoon.

"Please come down to support the event!*

"Remember that every pound you spend or drop into a bucket goes to support good causes and charities in our community.

"At the moment,we hope that the fireworks at 10pm will still be on, but this will depend on a satisfactory risk assessment from the company who put on the display. We will post an update here if that changes.

"Please come down to the harbour from 3pm today!"

Posting on Facebook this afternoon Tenby Round Table confirmed that the Spectacular is up and running and added: "As of 3.30pm, we are still looking good for the fireworks!"

And in the latest update, at 8,30pm, Tenby Round Table announced: ""Fireworks are on and start at 10pm!"
