A military veteran has marked his 90th birthday in a memorable manner.
Terry Warner, who was an armourer in the Royal Marines, had a special time of reminiscing with other veterans when they visited his care home.
The representatives from the VC Gallery – a veterans and community charity which has bases in Pembroke Dock and Haverfordwest – called into Pencoed Care Home at Wooden, near Saundersfoot, with the charity's mobile museum.
They engagement with residents was helped by their collection of military and wartime memorabilia and Terry, formerly of Saundersfoot – who is 90 today, Saturday August 24, was thrilled to participate.
He served with the Royal Marines Brigade headquarters from 1952 to 1964 as an armourer on two warships - one of which was the aircraft carrier HMS Centaur.
“The mobile museum was brilliant,” said Pencoed manager Janet Williams. ”It even had a gasmask, which brought back memories to some residents, and it was a pleasure to see to see our veteran enjoying reminiscing about his time with the Royal Marines.”
