A FISHERMAN jumped out of a bedroom window twenty feet up to try to escape the police.
Oscar Allen, 21, of The Ridgeway in Penally, was on bail whilst he awaited a trial on accusations of coercive control, strangulation and criminal damage.
It was alleged that he “hit, slapped and punched” the woman, monitored her phone and social media, isolated her from her friends and her sister, deleted sentimental photographs from her phone, controlled where she was able to go, and threatened to kill any future partners that she had.
He was also accused of three offences of strangulation – all dated between June and September last year – and damaging the woman’s mobile phone and washing machine on March 8.
Allen denied all charges in April and will face a trial at Swansea Crown Court on November 5.

He was made subject to a curfew between 7pm and 4am, which he breached on July 12, prosecutor David Singh said.
Officers attended Allen’s address on July 17 following this breach.
Mr Singh said Allen’s family “were not at all helpful” when police arrived at the address.
“He jumped out of a 20-foot bedroom window,” Mr Singh said.
The defendant was found around 40 minutes later. He asked the officers to adjust his handcuffs, and then attempted, unsuccessfully, to make another escape.
Ryan Bowen, appearing for the defendant, said that Allen had breached his curfew due to his fishing ship suffering engine failure.
“He panicked and leapt through a window,” Mr Bowen said.
“He acknowledges just how foolish his actions were.”
Allen pleaded guilty to escaping from lawful custody and criminal damage – relating to damage caused to his curfew monitoring anklet.
He will be sentenced after the outcome of the trial, and was readmitted to bail.
