A man was airlifted from Thorne Island after falling ten foot from scaffolding yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).
The man in his 50s was working inside the grounds of the former hotel, close to a private helicopter pad when he fell and sustained possible spinal injuries.
An air ambulance crew flew out to the island, which is just off Milford Haven. Shortly after 3.35pm they put the man on a spinal board and flew him to Withybush Hospital.
Thorne Island is currently owned by Von Essen hotels who plan to turn it into a five star international hotel with a sea water spa, preview cinema, celebrity chef restaurant and cable car access to the mainland.
