An unconscious horse rider was airlifted from Druidston beach yesterday after falling off her horse in the surf.
The woman was cantering in the surf on the beach when her horse stumbled on a submerged rock and she was thrown off.
She hit her head when she fell and was knocked unconscious.
At 10.45am a Medivac air ambulance as well as coastguard crews from St Davids and Broad Haven were called to the beach, which is difficult to get to but popular with horse riders.
The woman was airlifted to Withybush Hospital. A spokesman for the coastguard said that she had regained consciousness by the time she was transferred to the air ambulance.
