An elderly man has been airlifted to Withybush Hospital with serious injuries after a fall in West Street car park this lunchtime (Monday).
An air ambulance and a land ambulance were called to the scene. The air ambulance landed in nearby Lota Park and the man was rushed to hospital with suspected head injuries.
An eye witness at the scene said that the pensioner, believed to from the Dinas area, had had a heart attack in the car park and then hit his head. She said he was resuscitated by two off duty nurses, one from Withybush and one who was on holiday.
Staff from the nearby health centre also attended.
A spokesman from the ambulance service was unable to confirm this but said that the man was being attended by a doctor and a nurse when the air ambulance arrived.
