Police are appealing for witnesses after trees replanted yesterday were damaged in an act of "mindless vandalism" last night on Thomas Parry Way, causing £2,500 worth of damage.
After February's reports of vandalised trees on Thomas Parry Way in Haverfordwest, the Western Telegraph has again been informed of an act of vandalism, the trees damaged last night were replacements for those damaged earlier in the year.
PC Jennifer Thomas, of Haverfordwest police, said: "Around 15 trees have been snapped in half on both sides of the road, so whoever did this obviously went out of the way to cause damage."
The incident occurred some time between 5pm last night and 8.45am this morning. Landscape architect at Pembrokeshire County Council, David Rees assessed the damage to the Welsh Assembly funded trees and estimated that the cost of repair would come to around £2,500.
He said: "When things like this happen it's disheartening but it is the exception not the norm."
PC Jennifer Thomas said: "We would urge anyone who might have witnessed this act of criminal damage to contact the police, as we've had this problem before."
Anyone with information should contact Haverfordwest police station on 0845 330 2000.
