A total of 120 firefighters are currently battling a blaze at a five storey Tenby hotel.
Fire broke out at the disused Royal Gate House hotel at about 11pm last night, and 35 people were evacuated from nearby buildings by police.
Over 14 emergency vehicles are still at the scene, and the whole town has been closed off.
A police officer attending the incident said the scene looked like something out of the blitz, as the building was engulfed in flames.
Another eyewitness said he had never seen so many firefighters, and added that while the fire seemed to have been brought under control, the building looked very unstable, and there were now fears that it could collapse.
The 59 room hotel was empty, but nearby residents were moved to safety.
The roof of the building partially collapsed, and fire crews worked to prevent the blaze spreading to adjoining properties.
