"I believe I am the only person in Pembrokeshire who got through to the semi-finals, and need the support of Pembrokeshire people to help me progress through to the finals," she told the Western Telegraph.

Cherie, who lives in Summerhill, near Amroth, and is a year 11 pupil at Greenhill School, Tenby, has been writing and recording her own sings since she was 12.

"I got through to the semi-finals singing one of my own songs called Shut Up that I wrote for my dad," she revealed.

Last July, Cherie was a semi-finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest and she is currently half-way through recording her second album.

In the last year alone, she has performed at the Carew Rock concert, the Celtic Blue Rock festival, Milford Haven's Le Grande Weekend, open-air events in Tenby and the Women in Tune festival.
