Wales Covid rates: These areas of Milford Haven and Haverfordwest are the worst hotspots

While MSOA (middle layer super output areas) data released by Public Health Wales shows that three parts of the county have rates north of 1,000 cases per 100,000 people.

That figure means that over the last seven days, more than one per cent of the population of those areas has tested positive for coronvirus.

The worst impacted area in Pembrokeshire is Milford Haven West.

Data suggests that people under 60 who have not received the Coronavirus vaccine are three times as likely to be hospitalised as vaccinated people in the same group.

There were 134 Covid cases recorded in the area between October 12 and October 18, giving it a case rate of 1,753.9 per 100,000 people, among the worst in Wales.

Milford Haven East also features on that list, with 103 new cases and a case rate of 1,379.2 cases per 100,000 people.

The other area of Pembrokeshire where more than one per cent of the population have tested positive for the virus during the last week is Haverfordwest South.

This is the coronavirus rate and number of new cases for every area across Pembrokeshire:

• St Davids & Letterston: 52 new cases; a rate of 684.0 per 100,000 people.
• Johnston, Broad Haven & St Ishmaels: 61 new cases; a rate of 729.8 cases per 100,000 people.
• Milford Haven West: 134 new cases; a rate of 1,753.9 per 100,000 people.
• Milford Haven East: 103 new cases; a rate of 1,379.2 cases per 100,000 people.
• Pembroke West & Castlemartin: 24 new cases; 324.6 cases per 100,000 people.
• Pembroke East & Manorbier: 54 new cases; a rate of 701.5 cases per 100,000 people.
• Pembroke Dock: 52 new cases; a rate of 538.0 cases per 100,000 people.
• Neyland: 76 new cases; a rate of 874.6 cases per 100,000 people.
• Haverfordwest South: 77 new cases; a rate of 1,076.8 cases per 100,000 people.
• Haverfordwest North: 65 new cases; a rate of 914.2 cases per 100,000 people.
• Crundale, Clynderwen & Maenclochog: 44 new cases; a rate of 610.7 cases per 100,000 people.
• Fishguard: 94 new cases; a rate of 949.3 cases per 100,000 people.
• Cilgerran & Crymych: 35 new cases; a rate of 412.1 cases per 100,000 people.
• Narberth: 42 new cases; a rate of 611.2 cases per 100,000 people.
• Saundersfoot: 75 new cases; a rate of 883.0 cases per 100,000 people.
• Tenby & Caldey: 31 new cases; a rate of 510.3 cases per 100,000 people.
