Several community groups have come together to plan another spruce-up in Narberth and to build on the town's strong community foundations.
An open invitation is being extended to everyone to o along to the Queens Hall at 1pm on Wednesday October 27, to enjoy a delicious bowl of vegan soup, cooked using local surplus food.
There will be a chance to browse information and chat to members of various community groups. After lunch, volunteers can collect a litter-picker and other cleaning equipment and go out to help spruce up Narberth ready for winter. Hot drinks will follow, back at the Queens Hall.
Local county councillor, Vic Dennis, said: “Many new people have moved into Narberth over the last couple of years and this is an opportunity for them to see what really makes Narberth tick. Most of the services that we enjoy are managed and run by the community, for the community."
"There will be a chance to meet representatives from the Queens Hall, Bloomfield Community Centre, Pembrokeshire Foodbank, Plastic Free Narberth, Narberth Museum and Swim Narberth along with sports and other clubs in Narberth.
“As well as having the marvellous shops and businesses, coming together is part of living in Narberth and we have been denied that chance for far too long.
"We plan to build back better in Narberth, by offering opportunities for all and by strengthening and developing our wonderful community organisations. It is a fantastic way to meet new friends and see what really creates that Narberth magic."
Lara Herde, Queens Hall manager, said: “After a long and challenging two years, we are thrilled to welcome community members new and old to this wonderful autumn event. It’s a great feeling to be working together once again with such excellent local organisations who all want to make a difference to the town and the people who live and work here.
"If you have ever wondered about getting more involved in the local community, now is most definitely the time – a friendly welcome awaits everyone”
