A book has been produced telling the many stories of Pembrokeshire's people and their connections to World War Two.
'We Will Remember Them,' produced by the Milford Haven branch of the Royal British Legion and Milford Haven School, contains contributions from over 70 Pembrokeshire people with relatives who served in WWII.
The substantial book tells of their experiences, as well as listing those from the county who died in the war, the circumstances and where they are buried.
Among many others, the book tells the stories of:
- John Llewellin from Haverfordwest, a Battle of Britain pilot who was killed while defending escaping shipping at the evacuation of Singapore
- Rex Thomas, a farmers son from Mathry, who lost his life at Arnhem
- The Russell family (Royston, David, John and Thomas) who all survived
- James Davies from Neyland, who survived a Japanese prisoner of war camp
- Archie Davies from Hakin, a fighter pilot who was one of the first to land when the Japanese surrendered at Singapore
Ahead of the upcoming Armistice Sunday, the book is available at £19.99 from the Milford Haven British Legion, with all proceeds going to the Poppy Fund and Milford Haven School.
