A rippingly good time was had at Travis Perkins, Milford Haven, yesterday when warehouse assistant James Craig agreed to a full chest and back wax all in the name of charity.
Customers were heard wondering if they had stumbled into a beauty parlour rather than a builders merchants, as Samantha Brick of Looking Good and Celtic Haven's Kirstie Feneck set up their portable couch and waxing gear in the store.
"I'm a bit nervous now," admitted James. "I've been all right all week. My pain threshold's not too bad so hopefully I won't be screaming too much."
When the time came James stripped off and jumped onto the couch without a whimper and barely grimaced as the girls got to work with the wax.
The event was part of Travis Perkins' charity month when branch manager Nick Jones asks all staff members to come up with a fund raising idea, James bravely volunteered to sacrafice his chest wig and back fuzz.
So far around £200 has been raised for the NCH children's charity and Mencap, with around another £100 still to come.
"The pain wasn't too bad," admitted a newly fuzz free James. "It's all done and was all for a good cause."
Log on later for a video of James' fundraising efforts.
