A cyclist was airlifted to hospital following a suspected heart attack during Saturday’s stage of the Long Course Weekend.
The Wales Air Ambulance was called to the Narberth area at around 11.30am and took the man to Morriston hospital.
The incident involved a male cyclist and competitors were reported to have been diverted from the scene.
Race organisers said he was being supported by his family.
Race director Matthew Evans said: "An athlete suffered a suspected heart attack on the course. He was treated at the scene and taken to hospital.
"We have notified the family and they are with him at the hospital. Our thoughts are with him."
The road was closed while emergency services attended
A Wales Air Ambulance spokesman said: “Following treatment from our on-board medics, we airlifted the patient to Morriston Hospital, leaving scene at 12:50 and arriving at the hospital at 13:07. Our involvement was complete at 14:12.”
Around 4,000 riders set off on the county’s roads to take part in the Wales Sportive challenge.
