A GROUP hoping Britain leaves the EU took part in a blockade of the Pembroke Dock Ferry Terminal today (Saturday).
Two Pembrokeshire groups, Protest for Fishing Rights and Pembrokeshire for Brexit, united to organise the protest.
Rhys Wonnacott from Protest for Fishing Rights said: “We want to have a clean break which will mean that EU boats won’t be given British quota.
“At the moment the EU has three times more quota than us yet we fish the same ground.
“I got involved with the protest side of things so we would get treated fairly and that there would be an industry for years to come.”
Protestors were only to block lorries leaving the car park, but not to block the public coming or going.
Dyfed-Powys Police was made aware of the protest, and officers were there today to make sure people's voices were heard with the minimum of disruption.
"We will always seek to facilitate the right to peaceful protest, balancing the right to protest with disruption to local communities.
We work with protest organisers to achieve this,” a spokesman said.
A spokesperson for the Port of Milford Haven, which is responsible for the safe navigation and loading/unloading of the ferry, but not the onward journey of freight traffic once they leave the secure area of the ferry terminal was also aware of the plans.
