PEMBROKE Town Council is giving the Freedom of the Town of Pembroke to the Royal Welsh this weekend.
The ceremony takes place on Saturday, September 15 at Pembroke Castle from 11am.
After the ceremony the 1st Battalion Royal Welsh will then be marching through Main Street with colours flying, bayonets fixed and drums beating.
Mayor Linda Brown said: “I am looking forward to this Saturday’s ceremony when I, representing Pembroke Town Council will have the honour of granting the Freedom of the town of Pembroke to the Royal Welsh.
“It is a privilege to be able, with the support of my fellow Councillors, to welcome the regiment to our town and to show our appreciation to them for their service and commitment.
“Pembrokeshire has always had a very strong bond with all branches of the Armed Forces and I am delighted that our town of Pembroke is able to host this memorable event.”
Entry to the castle is free to watch to the ceremony.
