PUPILS from Ysgol Griffith Jones were among the guests of honour, launching the new-look Co-op food store in St Clears, following a £540,000 makeover.
The new-look store, located in Station Road, re-opened on June 15.
The store brings a funding boost locally through the Co-op's Membership scheme - members receive a five per cent reward on the purchase of own-brand products and services, with the Co-op donating a further one per cent to local causes.
Causes in the area currently benefitting include: Carmarthen Family Centre; League of Friends Glangwili Hospital and, Hywel Dda Health Charities.
Co-op Store Manager Terry Jones said: "We have had a great response. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to carry out such a significant investment in St Clears, enabling the store to better serve its members and customers. We are proud to be part of the community, and to be working to ensure our store is a local hub, a real asset locally."
