PEMBROKE Ladies Lifeboat Guild recently had a ‘flipping good’ time raising more than £160 for the RNLI.
Members were invited by Gini Lort-Phillips to Lawrenny Sports Club on Shrove Tuesday to share funds raised at a Pancakes and Quiz event with Lawrenny Church.
A very well-attended community event resulted in Pembroke Guild receiving funds of £162.50.
Guild Cahir Daphne Bush, having been persuaded to enter the dimly-lit outdoor Pancake Race, tossing her pancake en-route, decided power walking was safest and unsurprisingly came last.
However, it was all great fun and a wonderful fundraising idea.
Daphne said: “We Pembroke Ladies love coming to Lawrenny. Our huge thanks to Gini, Dee and the team for your invitation and this priceless boost to our funds .We look forward to working with you all again.”
