LAST Saturday, 16 ramblers enjoyed a nine mile walk in the Castlemartin area.
The group met at Merrion Camp, before heading north along quiet country lanes.
Despite the damp conditions everyone was in good spirits and cheerfully negotiated a minor flood brought on by the snow and heavy rain of previous weeks.
The group stopped for a while to admire the impressive Warren Church before taking little walked paths through fields and farmland heading towards the Speculation Inn.
Once there they turned south enjoying the pretty woodlands and lakes of the Orielton estate before crossing a stream and climbing up towards St Twynnells. After lunch the sun came out and members were treated to panoramic views over the whole of the Castlemartin peninsula as they made a very gentle descent back to the main road. They headed towards Carew farm and then made their way back to the start point by following the path that skirts round the edge of the firing range.
Pembrokeshire Ramblers welcome new members. For details of future walks and how to join see the website here
