THE Friends of Pembroke Dock Memorial Park charity is seeking new trustees, members and volunteers.
The retirement of two long-serving trustees, Don and Yvonne Earl, means that two new trustees are needed. The group is also seeking members and volunteers to help with a new drive to improve play equipment and information about the park’s history. Other ideas for improvements are also welcome.
Trustee Dilys Burrell said: “I would like to thank Don and Yvonne Earl for their many years of service as Trustees of the Friends of the Memorial Park. During their time on the group, the skate park, BMX track and the toddler play area were installed. I’m sure all the residents of Pembroke Dock would like to join me in saying thank you for their contribution to improvements to the Park.
“As mum to two young children myself we regularly use the play equipment they helped to get installed. The remaining trustees, town councillors Jane Phillips, Pam George and myself look forward to a new era of improvements to the Park, which is a valuable asset for the community and I think unique in Pembrokeshire as the county’s only historic town park.”
The Friends of the Memorial Park will hold a special general meeting at Llanion Cove Watersports Centre Cafe's meeting room at 1pm on March 5 to elect a new chair and Trustees. All are welcome, contact Dilys Burrell for more information dilysburrell@gmail.com.
