NINE of Pembroke Dock’s town councillors had new insights into their community’s remarkable history during an informal visit to the town’s Heritage Centre.
The council members, led by Mayor Cllr Gordon Goff, were welcomed by Gareth Mills, chairman of the Sunderland Trust which runs the centre, and by Centre Manager Stuart Berry.
They met many of the volunteers who run the centre throughout the year and staff members and trustees.
In his welcome remarks Gareth Mills thanked the town council for its support over the years and for the donation of £4,500 recently agreed to help the trust with its marketing and promotion for the coming season.
He charted the progress made, and the many changes, since the Centre was opened by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh nearly four years ago.
The values derived from heritage projects within communities was highlighted by Centre Manager Stuart Berry and refreshments were provided by the volunteer team which runs the highly-praised coffee shop in the centre.
The Heritage Centre is open Mondays to Saturdays inclusive, 10am to 4pm.
