TWO army officers and a sergeant have denied charges relating to the death of a soldier during a training exercise at Castlemartin in 2012.
Ranger Michael Maguire was 21 years old when he was struck in the head by a stray bullet at the army training area in the south of Pembrokeshire.
Captain Jonathan Price has denied the charge of manslaughter, and Colonel Richard Bell and Colour Sergeant Stuart Pankhurst have denied negligently performing a duty.
The three men will face court martial at Bulford in Wiltshire on May 14.
Ranger Maguire was not wearing a helmet when he was struck by the bullet, and was stood in a non-combat area of the training area around 1km from a shooting exercise.
Soldiers taking part in the exercise were using live rounds to fire at static and pop-up targets.
