There was good news for Pembrokeshire-born Paul Evans this week, as he was awarded a prestigious physics prize.
Paul, a distinguished professor of applied imaging, was awarded the Dennis Gabor Medal and Prize at the Institute of Physics Awards 2017 in London.
The award was made for the ex Clarbeston Road resident’s pioneering research into material-specific, 3D X-ray imaging and its application in security screening, which has substantially increased the security of the travelling public.
Paul Evans is a former pupil of what was Haverfordwest Secondary Modern.
