A BRAVE sea swimmer and a successful car wash have given a double boost to Tenby RNLI.
Pembrokeshire County Council chairman, Wynne Evans, has donated £297.67 to the charity after taking part in the Tenby Boxing Day Swim and the Saundersfoot New Year’s Day Swim.
This is the fourth donation from the two swims that Councillor Evans has made to local charities.
The lifeboat crew also held their annual car wash at Tenby fire station, with coxswain Philip John and crew thanking the firefighters who not only hosted the event but also washed cars.
Despite torrential rain and strong winds, it was a huge success, with over £937 raised.
This amount will now be generously match-funded by the Tenby branch of Barclays Bank, taking the total close to £2,000.
