ONE of the most renowned victories in British military history was re-enacted over the May bank holiday weekend.
The Battle of Agincourt was brought to life at Cilgerran Castle by the living history group, the Companions of the Forest, to mark the battle’s 600th anniversary.
The ‘Preparing for Agincourt’ event offered a variety of family entertainment and games to visitors which included have a go archery, interactive medieval costume sessions, and a spectacular re-enactment of the Battle of Agincourt – in which Henry V famously defeated a much larger French army.
Catherine Collins, Custodian at Cilgerran Castle, said: “The Agincourt Weekend proved to be a huge success with the local and wider community. There were lots of fantastic activities and games for families to try out and everyone seemed to go home with a big smile on their face.”
