THE newly reformed Fishguard Ladies Circle has been officially welcomed back into the Ladies Circle family.
The official re-charter of Fishguard took place at the Wolfscastle Country Hotel Saturday, March 28, along with a celebration of 50 years of circle in the local area.
Members were joined by guests from across the country, including the Ladies Circle National President, Clair Wevell and members from Haverfordwest, Tenby and Cardigan.
Becky Annis was given the honour of being chairman of Fishguard Ladies Circle for the coming year with Alli Thomas elected as her vice.
Fishguard Ladies Circle was originally set up in 1965 but disbanded in 2003. In July of last year three members got together and decided to bring the Ladies Circle back to Fishguard, and so began the arduous task of recruiting members.
Becky said: “With a lot of help from the ex Ladies Circle members and the area team, we now have seven official members and four or five potentials, so we’re well on the way to having a really strong group of fantastic girls.
“Ladies Circle is open to ladies aged 18-45 from all walks of life and the aim is to make new friends, have fun and fundraise. We meet twice a month, once at the Glendower Hotel on the last Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm and once for a social activity/get together.”
