FISHGUARD Harbour will welcome 250 special guests on St David’s Day who are travelling into town on the UK’s most luxurious touring train.
Goodwick Brass Band, Jemima Nicholas and the Mayor of Fishguard and Goodwick, Councillor Mike Lloyd will form part of the welcoming party for the Northern Belle.
There will also be stalls selling craft goods, giving visitors a taste of what can be purchased from the local shops and markets.
Passengers will also be entered into a free prize draw to win a two night stay at Cefn y Dre with an evening meal at Peppers Restaurant.
This welcome has been organised by Sue Blanchard-Williams, a Fishguard resident, who was formerly cruise ship coordinator for Milford Haven, but is now working as temporary project manager for the Chamber of Trade’s Tourism project – Refreshing North Pembrokeshire.
“We want to show how great and friendly a place this is”, said Christina Shand – outgoing chair of the Chamber of Trade.
“The more such visits we get the more people will want to come for their own holidays here, and we need those visitors throughout the year."
