A Wolfscastle man who admitted being a ‘Mr Big’ in a large-scale cannabis operation is due to be sentenced today (Thursday).
Michael Broome, aged 30, also admitted preparing to deal in cocaine at a previous hearing at Swansea Crown Court.
Broome appeared alongside three other men and a woman before Judge Paul Thomas at Swansea on Friday, January 30.
Broome along with Steven Broome, 29, of Oxley, Ashley Brown, 25, of Fordhouses, and Michael Thomas, of Compton, all Wolverhampton, all admitted conspiring to supply cannabis between February 1, 2012 and April 10, 2013.
Brown’s sister, Jade Brown, aged 23, also of Fordhouses, denied the conspiracy charge and her plea was accepted.
All five denied conspiring to supply cocaine during the same dates and this was also accepted by the Crown. But Michael Broome admitted possessing more than 12 grammes of cocaine on April 9, 2013, with intent to supply.
Robin Rouch, prosecuting, said much of the evidence consisted of text messages, nearly all of which related to cannabis.
Michael Broome and Ashley Brown had been the “principals” in the operation, he added, which involved “a large amount” of cannabis.
Steven Broome had been involved in transporting money and Thomas in moving some of the cannabis.
All four were bailed to be sentenced today, February 26, after probation officers prepare reports.
