I READ with interest the editorial by Bruce Sinclair in February 4 edition of your paper regarding the Bryn Parry Jones legal bill. We are forever being told that services need to be curtailed because funds are so low in Pembrokeshire County Council yet the article informed us that a ‘draft letter’ by top London barrister Tim Kerr QC cost £5,800 to produce.
Mr Kerr must be laughing all the way to the bank since it would only require approximately 27 letters of this sort to reach Bryn’s £160,000 legal costs. God knows how much it would have been if Mr Kerr had taken this from the ‘draft’ stage to a ‘finished letter’.
