Children in Goodwick may have to hang on just a little longer for the installation of eagerly awaited play equipment in the Parrog play park.
The park's wooden equipment was removed at the end of last year after rot was discovered in the structure.
After a public outcry and the establishment of a Save Our Playgrounds group, the council allocated money from their playground maintenance budget for new play equipment for the popular park.
A public vote selected a ship themed multi-activity apparatus which includes two slides, bridges and climbing platforms. This was due to be installed at the end of this month.
However installation by the end of this week is looking unlikely. A council spokesman today (Monday) said that the authority is still waiting for the equipment to be delivered from the suppliers;
"At present the contracted installers are currently awaiting the play area equipment from the suppliers," said the spokesman.
"As soon as this arrives it will be installed at the earliest opportunity."
