As Pembroke Dock’s Heritage Centre gears up for its first anniversary, following its Royal Opening in 2014, a special invitation has been signalled for new recruits to join the volunteer crew which runs the all-year-round visitor attraction.
The latest volunteer recruitment open day takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, February 18, at the Heritage Centre, in the Royal Dockyard Chapel, between 10am-4pm.
Anyone interested in joining a very happy team can just turn up and meet with volunteers and staff and see for themselves what the centre has to offer for volunteers.
A regular three hours per week is all that volunteers are asked to commit to.
Volunteer roles throughout the organisation are very varied - suiting a wide range of interests and skills, in a rewarding and cheerful environment within a beautifully restored former military chapel.
Some roles are: meeting visitors and front of house; flying boat conservation in the workshop; education and oral history teams; coffee shop duties; archiving and involvement in special, and regular, events.
Visit the centre’s Facebook page, check the website sunderlandtrust.com; e-mail enquiries@sunderlandtrust.com or call 01646 684220.
