Dyfed-Powys police has denied rumours that officers and support staff have been suspended following the death of Meirion James at Haverfordwest police station.
Mr James, 53, from Crymych died in police custody in Haverfordwest on Saturday, January 31. He was arrested following an incident at an address in Crymych, at around 4.25 am that day.
He was taken to the custody suite at Haverfordwest Police Station and deemed fit to be detained by a police medical examiner.
At around 11am an incident occurred during which Mr James became unresponsive and an ambulance was called. Resuscitation events were unsuccessful .
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is independently investigating the incident. It is asking for any witnesses to a minor road traffic incident on the A487 at Llanrhystud on Friday, January 30, to come forward.
Police had attended the incident, involving Mr James's Fiat Panda, close to the Neuadd Goffa memorial hall and Texaco garage at around 1pm.
A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys police said that neither police officers nor support staff had been suspended following the death in custody, saying:
"I can confirm that there have been no suspensions in relation to this matter."
