Family activities in the fresh air are on offer at Colby Woodland Garden this half term, starting today (Sunday).
The fun includes pond dipping, bushcraft taster sessions and outdoor adventures.
Families with children aged seven and over can enjoy Wake Up to Wildlife and finding out about Colby’s water creatures, on Sunday (February 15), Thursday February 19 and Friday February 20 at 11am and 1.30pm, which costs just £2.50 per child.
Bushcraft taster sessions with Buzzard Chris will given an insight into bush craft skills, fire-making, tree and plant identification and Atlati dart throwing.
These are on Monday (February 16) at 11am and 1.30pm. The cost is £5 for adults and £3 for a child (who must be eight and over and accompanied by a paying adult).
While for the younger members of the family, aged six to 12, and the young at heart, there will be Ranger Sara’s Colby Adventures. During two hours of guided family fun in the outdoors, Sara will share skills such as how to make a campfire and show why camouflage is so useful.
Booking is advisable - visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk/colby-woodland-garden for more information, or phone Colby Woodland Garden on 01834 811885.
