Three calves were killed this morning (Thursday) after a number of young cows got onto the highway between Scleddau and Trecwn.
Police were called to a collision at 7.30am. They said that five or six animals had escaped from a nearby farm and strayed onto the A40. The animals came into collision with a car shortly before 7.30am and three of them were killed.
Police said that the vehicle sustained minor damage in the incident.
