Work to complete the missing link of Hubberston’s cycle track is scheduled to start today (Monday).

As well as linking the existing “St Lawrence Hill” shared pedestrian and cycle user path at the Waterloo Road junction with the existing cycle track at Brigadoon, the project will improve road safety for motorists and pedestrians alike.

Two hundred metres of carriageway will be re-aligned to create the path on the Glebelands side of the Dale Road.

Seventy metres of parking bays will also be created at Glebelands.

There will be traffic disruption for eight weeks, with single lane closures and temporary traffic signals. All existing accesses onto the Dale Road will be retained.

Hubberston’s County Councillor Viv Stoddart said: “There will be temporary disruption but I welcome the outcome, which will be an improvement for residents and motorists.”
