A St Nicholas woman, accused of having a dangerously out of control dog which led to a young boy being injured, is due to have her case heard at Crown court today, Friday, February 6.
Appearing before Haverfordwest magistrates last Tuesday, Teresa Margaret Carlisle, 63, denied two charges of failing to comply with a control of dog order on June 30 and August 16 of last year.
Carlisle also denied being in charge of a Staffordshire Terrier cross Whippet, which was dangerously out of control on June 30 and being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing an injury to a young boy, on August 16.
The court heard Carlisle had been subject to a previous order, imposed in 2013, to keep the dog under control.
Prosecuting, Vaughan Prichard-Jones said: “One of the allegations is that this young boy was walking along a public footpath through a property owned by the defendant.
“The dog ran at him and he ran away; the dog didn’t get to him but he did fall over as a result of running away, injuring his knee.”
Magistrates accepted jurisdiction, but Carlisle elected to have her case heard at crown court.
Carlisle was granted unconditional bail to that date.
