THE final cost of two signs announcing work has started on a new Chemotherapy Day Unit at Withybush Hospital is £1,629 more than previously thought.
In January, Hywel Dda health board revealed it has spent more than £2,800 on two boards erected at the hospital.
But following Freedom of Information request by Lyn Neville, of Pembrokeshire Cancer Support, additional costs associated with the work have now been made available, taking the total spent to £4443.04.
Sarah Jennings, Director of Strategic Partnerships (and interim lead for communications), said the revised figure was due to some invoices for the work not being available last month.
"In response to a media enquiry and deadline, we released costs associated with the board that had been incurred to that date,” she said.
“Further costs had been invoiced by the time the FOI request was released two weeks later and these were reflected in the FOI return."
As part of the FOI, the health board re-iterated that “the total of the boards were paid for by the University Health Board (UHB) and no money came out of charitable funds”.
