PEMBROKE Dock’s skate park has been a popular attraction since its completion last month and the Friends of Memorial Park have paid a visit to see for themselves.
The park has been put to good use by the children and young people of the town.
Chairman of the Memorial Park Group, Councillor Sue Perkins said: “The skate park in Pembroke Dock is finished and looking good, the best news of all is that local children and young people are enjoying it.
“The chance to skateboard safely in our town has long been a dream for our young people who raised money to help the cause. I want to thank Pembroke Dock Town Council for supporting our cause from the very start with annual funding, Communities First for helping us secure funding from a variety of sources and Dyfed-Powys Police for their grant.
“Most of all, I want to thank members of the Memorial Park Group who have shared my vision for our town park as a place where everyone can walk, play and take part in activities, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of this unique environment.
“Our town park is becoming a place for families again. We have more plans which include more seating and more play equipment. I know that with the energy and commitment of the Memorial Park Group and our supporters we will continue to polish up this jewel in the crown of Pembroke Dock.”
