THE Pembroke and Pembroke Dock LVA Quiz League reached the half way point in the season last week with an unusual quiz set by Charlton A.

At the Alma the A side tried to emulate last week’s success by beating the Station A. It was neck and neck all the way, but the visitors clinched a win by three points on the last question.

The Naval Club came away with a win at the Golf Club, while Charlton B continued its dismal run, suffering a heavy defeat to the night’s top scorers, the Oak.

Alma B travelled to St Govan’s Inn to play the A side but had no joy and came away with an 11 point defeat.

At the First & Last, third place Cosh Brewery were trying to keep in touch with the top of the table but the home side showed that its position in the table was not a fluke and the match ended in a draw.

Station B needed to return to its winning ways after last week’s blip and so they did, with a convincing win against St Govan’s Inn B.

The week’s results were: St Govan’s Inn A 58, Alma B 47; Station B 74, St Govan’s Inn B 42; Alma A 66, Station A 69; Charlton B 54, Oak 78; First & Last 63, Cosh Brewery 63; and Golf Club 52; Naval Club 76.

With everything to play for in the second half of the season, Station B tops the table on 33 points, followed by Station A on 30. Cosh Brewery has 25 points, First & Last 22, and the Charlton A and Oak 21 a piece.

Full league tables will be circulated when Station B set the questions on February 9.
