THE husband of a Pennar woman who went missing earlier this month has praised the emergency services for their swift action.
A 33-year-old woman was taken to Withybush Hospital after being found at Llanreath Beach, Pembroke Dock, on Wednesday, January 15.
Police, fire, ambulance and coastguard teams - including a Sea King 169 helicopter based at RAF Chivenor - were involved in the search for the missing woman, who was described as “vulnerable” by police.
Angle inshore lifeboat, St Govan’s and Tenby coastguard rescue teams, Pembrokeshire sector manager, and a fire rescue boat attended.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said police received reports of the missing woman just after 6am. She was found at 8.30am.
The woman’s husband, who did not want to be named, said: “I want to thank the emergency services for all their efforts and finding her safe and well.
“This was luckily a happy ending to a very emotional time. My wife has received treatment and she is recovering.”
The woman was missing for about three hours in total. Her husband added: “I was obviously feeling very distressed, I didn’t know what was happening regarding my wife. The emergency services pulled out all the stops.
“Thank you’s not enough, I know. Without them we would not have had a happy ending.
“I would like to express my gratitude to all of our friends and family as well.”
