FOUNDRY House Community Centre, Pembroke, now boasts potentially life saving equipment following a donation by the British Red Cross.
The charity donated a defibrillator to the centre in memory of Pembroke volunteer Vera John, who dedicated 55 years of her life to the charity.
The presentation was made by south west Wales Red Cross patron Penny Drew MBE.
The machine is mounted on a wall ready to be used in an emergency alongside a brass plaque bearing Vera’s name.
Vera was 71 when she died in January last year and she was an integral part of the event first aid team in Pembroke where she volunteered at numerous events throughout the county, from small village fetes to the Celtic Blue Rock festival.
