An RSPCA Cymru inspector has been left baffled by the deaths of two female collies whose bodies were discovered in a field at Crosswell near Crymych on Wednesday.
The bodies of the black and white dogs were laid out head to toe behind a hedgerow with no obvious injuries or signs of trauma.
One was wearing a leather collar but it didn’t have an ID tag.
Neither dog had been microchipped.
Inspector Richard Abbott said: “This is a real mystery. Both dogs appear to be in reasonable condition and presently we have no idea how these dogs died or how they came to be laid out in a field in this particular way.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who might be missing two collies or has any information about where they came from”.
Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to to contact the inspector’s information line on 0300 123 8018 where they can leave a message for Inspector Abbott. All calls will be treated in confidence.
