THERE’S just over a week to go before consultation ends on the future of Narberth’s Sunnybank Residential Home.
The Pembrokeshire County Council owned and managed facility - one of two residential care homes for frail, older people in the county - needs an estimated £2.6m worth of work to bring it up to standard.
The authority’s cabinet agreed in the autumn to consult on the future of residential care services at Sunnybank..
The home currently has nine residents and two daycare service users, with a further 18 people accessing respite care. The council says that each resident place is costing the authority £1,000 a week - twice the cost of a place in a privately-run home.
The consultation with residents, their families, staff and other interested parties got underway in Nocember is due to end at noon on Friday January 31.
Feedback from this consultation will assist the Council in making a decision concerning the future of the home.
There is still time to give your views. You can complete the questionnaire at www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/haveyoursay,
