PUPILS from Golden Grove Community School, Pembroke, have helped raise money for Nepalese people suffering from bad health.
Former Argyle Medical Practice doctor Andy Evans, 62, of Cosheston, returned from Nepal towards the end of November, having conquered the highest marathon in the world – the Everest marathon.
Andy returned to the school on the last day of the Christmas term, when he was presented with a cheque from the proceeds of a school raffle to boost his fundraising total.
Pupils were shown photographs of Andy’s trip. The children showed great enthusiasm and interest, and further discussion about the adventure and the cultural differences in Nepal captured the children's interest and imagination.
Andy has raised money for the Everest Marathon Fund, which supports Nepalese people suffering from bad health. To sponsor him go to www.virginmoneygiving.com/Andrew Evans 11.
