BBC TV Wales carried the salary details of Chief Executives for the Welsh County Councils, in their lunchtime bulletin.
£148000 was the average earned by Chief Executives across England and Wales.
Cardiff City Council's Chief Executive earns £176,376.
The 2nd highest earning Chief Executive was Pembrokeshire's own Bryn Parry-Jones on £166,297.
In 3rd Place, Carmarthenshire's Chief Executive earned £164,847. In 4th place on £146,417 was the Chief Executive of the Vale of Glamorgan.
Prime Minister, David Cameron's salary is £142,500.
OK, Cameron holds an elected office, but I do not know whether any of the Chief Executives have a case close to hand that within a matter of seconds could set of our nuclear weapons at an "enemy".
It will be interesting to see whether the salary issue will hit the headlines locally and I won't pass any comment as to whether our Chief Executive is worth it, or not. I am sure everyone has an opinion.
