I hope there is fine weather at the weekend for the St David’s Day Food and Craft Festival in Saunders foot. Held this Saturday and Sunday, it incorporates the CawlTrail and Cawl Cooking competition on Saturday. Attracting large numbers of people, it is a really good day out. I had a stall there last year, and I am there again this year. The atmosphere is brilliant, friendly and fun. There are a wide range of stalls with a mixture of different foods, drink, gifts, jewellery, and crystals, many with tasty samples for you to try. There are also some great cookery demonstrations, and last year there was a class in skinning a rabbit and preparing a pheasant! Not for the squeamish, or vegetarians! I personally had to leave the marquee, but, lots of people were fascinated and watched in wonder. Many people come to explore the market, have lunch,(being Cawl on Saturday), and walk it off along the beach. At only £4 for a commemorative bowl which you can keep, and fill with cawl at various premises around the village, you end up very full at a bargain price! Exact times and details are in this weeks Western Telegraph.
