Last Thursday was National Poetry Day and it was the day I became a published poet.
OK, it was on the BBC's "Have Your Say" web-site and it was a limerick, but it still counts.
I am a lover of limericks as poetry in my view, should be fun and enjoyable to read. Normal poetry unfortunately, does not float my boat. Indeed, I just have to see a poem, and my interest sinks faster than the Titanic.
In advance, I apologise if anyone is offended at my use of Kilgetty. But I can advise that I do not know Shilpa Shetty, and as far as I know, she's never been to Kilgetty. It is just a piece of fun.
So, here it is:-

I wish we could get limericks going for place names within the County, just for some fun and get them published, to make some money for charity. Maybe we could also set a challenge for a limerick in Welsh. I presume its not just restricted to the English language.
With all the dire news about the economy and the credit crunch, we could do with a laugh, to cheer us up. I have a book on limericks. Unfortunately, most of them could not be published on this blog.
If you have a limerick, please share it below.
PS - 2 people took the trouble to sign up to my limerick, so at least it must have amused 2 readers.
