I've just returned from knocking on doors in Haverfordwest campaigning for Chris Harries, one of our county council candidates. The date for submitting nominations for the Local Government Elections has now closed. It appears that the Conservative Party will have 30 candidates in Pembrokeshire which is a massive improvement compared to the last Local Elections when we only had 1. I understand that the Labour Party are only putting forward 19 candidates while Plaid Cymru and the Lib Dems will have 11 each. The contest will be very interesting and I am confident that we will win a number of seats.
It is important that people have the opportunity to vote Conservative because at other elections in recent years they have decided to vote for us. This is why Stephen Crabb and I have been directly elected in Preseli Pembrokeshire.
The results on May 2nd will be very interesting.
