The unexpected announcement of Terry Grange's retirement as chief constable of Dyfed Powys Police Force has certainly caught everyone by surprise. The IPCC investigation into his conduct will of course continue and it would be inappropriate for anyone to make any comments surrounding this inquiry. I did not know the man but it always struck me that he was a good leader of the force. This was evident in the force's results and the low level of crime generally in the area.
