Frank Skinner On The Road Frank Skinner (Century, £18.99) After following the comedy of Frank Skinner for years, I was waiting with baited breath for this new offering — and it doesn’t disappoint.

If you enjoy Frank’s blue jokes and witty observations, this honest account of life as he went back on the road will hook you in from the first page.

The fear is palpable as he mulls over whether the TV-filled gap of the last ten years has turned him into a boring act. But the jokes keep rolling from start to finish, including possibly the funniest gag of all time that he wrote in 1997 about a lemon wet wipe, which I won’t spoil.

The book provides a laugh-out-loud insight into one of Britain’s top comedians, but it should come with a warning — if you’re easily offended, don’t waste your money.
